FAQs

The best seasons for trekking in Everest are in spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November). The moderate temperature, blooming of rhododendrons, and clear skies make the spring season best for travelers who love pleasant weather. Autumn has best upheld its weather with maximum visibility and cultural experience, being associated with festivals like Dashain and Tihar in Nepal. This is also the best period for the least possible chances of rainfall or heavy snowfall. All these seasons make trekking a smoother affair. Though they are the two most favorite seasons with pretty large crowds, they promise excellent views and safer trekking conditions. The treks through winters or monsoons are rare because the cold is too extreme and rain is just pouring, but they are the options for those who want solitude and different challenges.

The Everest Base Camp trek is considered moderately difficult but, with preparation, most people can do it. Although there are some steep ascents and descents, they can be handled by basic fitness and stamina. For instance, walking 4-5 hours daily, and other activities like running or yoga would be good preparations. Many first-time trekkers have accomplished this, so experience isn't as vital but there are certain natural factors such as altitude, weather conditions, and trails that make the trek tough. Consulting a doctor is needed if someone has any health issues such as heart or lung diseases. Hydration, a steady pace, and rest should be enough measures to overcome difficulties. Some hiring of guides or porters enables smoother and more pleasurable trekking experiences. The experience is very rewarding and what is more, with a good mindset, you can achieve this amazing adventure.

Children and senior citizens can trek on Everest Base Camp if they are healthy and ready for it. Children over 10 years old are suggested not to get ready for this cause certain natural factors such as altitude, weather conditions, and trails make the trek tough for them. As for senior citizens, prior consultation with a doctor for an adequate fitness level before the trek is suggested. The key steps should be short hikes for stamina building and gradual acclimatization at altitude. The speed should be smooth, with at least one bush or water every 30 minutes or so. Although a trek can be made more comfortable by helicopter for journeying parts. So, how are accommodations in the trek? There are luxury lodges and tea houses, depending on your tour package. The newer facility has luxurious rooms attached to private baths, complete with hot running water ready to be used with a nice meal. Accommodations in much more out-of-the-way places. Make advanced bookings in peak seasons for the best deals available.

The Everest Trek has to go through three different permits as it is implemented by the government and respective authorities. TIMS (Trekkers Information Management System) KRMS (Khumbu Rural Municipality Permit) SNPEP (Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit)

There is no limitation on the weight of your backpack, you can pack it according to your itinerary and the days you are staying there. So, prepare and get ready with the materials mentioned above in the checklist.

As the booking for helicopter toru to EBC is on peak and at high demand there it can be canceled early but if it is nearer to trek day it can’t be canceled. If also it gets cancelled there will be no full refund policy.

We will always start the trek by seeing the condition of the weather and the predictions. To get away from the weather issue we only trek in the Spring seasons and Autumn seasons when the climate will be clear and the temperature will also be in a moderate condition which will be the best time for the EBC trek.
