Description

The town of Kapilvastu holds great significance for followers of Gautam Buddha. This place marked where he first entered the world. He lived in luxury before his journey began. The Indo-Nepal border area holds this important location which draws Buddhist travelers with historical stories about Buddha's early years.

Many followers of Buddha recognize Kapilvastu as a religious site despite its lesser fame than Lumbini. It marks his first day of life and the beginning of his teachings.
