The Mardi Himal trek is a natural walk through old classics and old monasteries with an entrancing view of the mountains. The road leads us through ethnic Gurung towns which is an occasion to experience the local community. The view changes from green lush forests of rhododendron and oak to alpine meadows and high snow-capped peaks. The magnificent backdrop of Machapuchare (Fishtail Mountain), Annapurna, and Dhaulagiri is seen continuously during the entire trek, creating a perfect setting for yoga and meditation practices. We will greet you warmly after you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport. Your hotel transfer starts when a representative greets you at Tribhuvan International Airport. Then, you'll use a private vehicle for the ride. Hotel staff will take care of your check-in as soon as you arrive. Now, you can rest after completing your long journey. If you have enough energy you can tour the attractive sights of Kathmandu. Historic temples and lively streets together with unique cultural heritage fill the entire city. Your trekking guide will brief you about the Mardi Himal Meditation and Yoga Trail during a meeting that takes place in the evening. Your guide will start by presenting important hike information before evaluating your equipment needs. Spend your first day in Kathmandu while preparing for future exciting experiences.
On this day, you will begin your day early morning. You will travel on a tourist bus up to Pokhara. The bus journey will be enjoyable due to the captivating view. During your journey, you will encounter the Trishuli and Marsyangdi rivers because they run between the green hills and rocky mountains. The main rivers in the area have small cascading waterfalls and flowing streams that connect to them. After traveling for 6-7 hours, you will reach Pokhara in mid-day. In Pokhara, you will have your meal. After eating a meal you will begin your journey. From Pokhara, you will travel on a shared jeep. The shared jeep will directly take you to Kande which serves as the beginning point of Mardi Himal Trek. On the path, you can see different landscapes and farmlands. Your real trekking expedition starts from this point. You will spend the night at Kande on this particular day.
Today, you will begin your journey from Kande to reach the destination of Low Camp. The first section of your trek takes you to Australian Camp. From this location, you can admire breathtaking vistas of the Annapurna range through its wide-open landscape. Now, you will move towards the Pothana. You will hike in the thick rhododendron forest. You will enjoy the hike in a forest because you will get fresh air and vibrant scenery. From Pothana, you will hike towards Pitam Deurali. After walking for some time, you will reach Pitam Deurali. From here, you can see stunning panoramic views of the Annapurna peaks and the Pokhara Valley. You will find different settlements and can learn about local customs. People here will welcome you warmly. As you walk the trail, you'll see a forest filled with stunning rhododendron trees. You can often see wild animals like leopards, deer, and monkeys along this route. The hiking route takes you through both Forest Camp and Rest Camp destinations. From this location, you can start to view Hiuchuli peaks along with the Annapurna South mountains. After walking for several hours in the evening time you will reach Low Camp. Once you reach Low Camp, you can enjoy the stunning vistas. Here, you will be performing a night meditation session in front of the Himalayas.
You will begin your day by performing early morning yoga classes. After performing yoga classes in the Himalayas you will emphasize your performance. Then, you will have your breakfast and start the trek. Initially, you will begin your trek by climbing. You will walk through a rhododendron forest. You will enjoy the hiking because natural scenery will surround you. After hiking for some time, you will reach Badal Danda. From Badal Danda, the mountainside transforms into an extensive open ridge because the forest trees fade away. From Badal Danda, you will walk on a slim peak ridge. The mountaintop vistas along with tough terrain make the entire hiking adventure. From this point, you can view Mardi Himal and the Annapurna Range together with Machhapuchhre. On your left, you can see the Modi Khola River valley. To your right, you will observe the Mardi Khola together with the Seti river valleys. During your journey, you can spot the Daphne. After several hours of hiking, you will reach High Camp. From High Camp, you can take pleasure in the amazing views. On this day, you will stay at the teahouse. After settling in the teahouse you can be fresh and you have to prepare for nighttime meditation. You will perform meditation on open ground.
Today will be the special day of your trek. You have to wake up early morning to experience the magnificent mountain sunrise. This day will be the most memorable and adventurous day of the trek. Today, you will leave your bag in the teahouse. You will carry a yoga mat and water bottle with you. Today, you have to climb until you reach base camp. Every step of climbing will give you an amazing view. After climbing for a few hours, you will reach base camp. Once, you reach base camp you can see the sunrise and can take some pictures. When the sun reflects on a giant mountain it will give you a wonderful view. From the base camp, you will observe different mountains enveloped by snow. You will experience a speechless state when viewing the wide mountains in the distance. After enjoying the view, you will do yoga in this beautiful place. After completion of yoga, you will meditate for hours. While doing yoga and meditation, you will receive morning sun on your body. After completing the session, you can enjoy the breakfast with beautiful scenery. After spending time and clicking wonderful pictures, you will be back at High Camp. Once you reach High Camp, you will pack your bag and eat a meal. After having a meal, you will move towards the Badal Danda. During your descent, you will encounter a remarkable effect when clouds float around you creating a skylike walking experience. Such a memorable ending completes your active day. On this day, you will stay at Badal Danda.
You will start your morning by doing yoga and meditation on the lap of nature. Today, you will leave the peaceful location and descend towards the siding village. You will be taking the new route instead of following the path to Forest Camp. You will walk through forests filled with vegetation while listening to birdsongs and possibly catch a glimpse of uncommon plant species. Today walking will be smoother because you have to move downwards only. After several hours of descending, you will reach Siding Village. After reaching Siding Village, you will have a delicious lunch. You will move to Pokhara after having lunch in a shared jeep. The scenic view outside your window seat becomes available during this trip. Almost traveling for 5 hours in the evening time you will reach Pokhara. After reaching Pokhara your guide will drop you at your accommodation. You can relax and be fresh now. Now, you have free time to spend as per your wish. You can experience serenity by boat cruising on Phewa Lake while also roaming the active lakeside district or spending time recalling their fantastic trekking adventure. On this day, you will stay at Pokhara.
The first part of the day begins with an early journey to the picturesque hilltop destination of Sarangkot located close to Pokhara. You will have the chance to see the glorious sunrise illuminating the Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Manaslu mountain ranges. Sarangkot provides breathtaking viewpoint access to see the entire Pokhara Valley with its prominent feature being Phewa Lake below. Your journey back to the hotel provides an opportunity to see the Bindabasini Temple while you explore the most ancient temple within Pokhara which carries strong religious value. Once you reach the hotel, you will enjoy breakfast. Then, you will board a deluxe tourist bus. A bus will run through the Prithvi Highway. You will encounter various scenery types including rivers and hills together with towns such as Damauli, Dumre, and Mugling. Your arrival in Kathmandu marks the completion of the Mardi Himal Meditation and Yoga Trail. The night will be exciting because you will have the opportunity to experience a traditional Nepalese dinner paired with authentic ethnic musical performances. To prevent altitude sickness during the trek, you should walk slowly, and not drink any type of beverage or alcohol during the trek. It depends upon you how much heavy bag you can carry and walk. It is recommended that if you carry 15 kg of backpack, then you can have a smooth walk throughout the trek. If you hire a porter, they will charge according to the weight of a backpack.
Yes, this trek is suitable for beginners, given that you are physically fit. Before two months of the trek, have 1 hour of exercise and run to level up your strength so that you will not have any type of problem during the trek.
