The Tharu village cultural experience is a must-do activity in Chitwan. So, now many other people also lived there for various purposes, maybe business, work, or education. Though there are many other ethnic groups, Tharu culture is still preserved in some villages. There are some Tharu villages in Chitwan, such as Madi, Patihani, Meghauli, and Bachhauli. Bachhauli village is the nearest among all other villages and also considered to be the part of Sauraha. whereas other villages are at a little distance from Sauraha.
There is a museum in Sauraha that is not very far from Chitwan National Park, where you can learn more about Tharu culture in depth. You can find different types of traditional equipment they used, jewelry, and ornaments that Tharu people wear. You can get detailed information about the history of the Tharu people in the museum, how Tharu people used to live in a jungle in between dense forests. and used land in the jungle for agriculture, they were dependent totally upon the natural resources for food,shelther and medicines.so they have better knowledge about medicinal herbs.
