The spring March, April, and May and autumn September, October, and November are the best moments to visit Kanchenjunga. All seasons are considered good for trekking, mountaineering, and discovering the Kanchenjunga area.
Spring is relatively warm and fine and is therefore perfect for hiking and outdoor activities. At this time of the year, the region changes color and the trails are a riot of color from the blooming rhododendrons. Spring is the best season as the sky is clear giving one a distinct view of Kanchenjunga peaks and other Himalayan chains. It also has a gentle and favorable climate that supports various types of animals and birds that are only found in that region making trekkers witness those special creatures.
Autumn is said to be the best season to trek because of clear skies and little or no rain while Kanchenjunga and the other mountains are visible in the area. The stable weather conditions make it safer for trekking and its nature makes it suitable for mountaineering. The trails are dusty, and the atmosphere very dry, making for stunning sunsets over snow-covered mountains and very blue skies. This season is also culturally sensitive due to the many festivals that are celebrated in the region at this time giving tourists a sneak preview of the culture of the people surrounding Kanchenjunga.
Both seasons offer distinct experiences, but they share one common feature: the opportunity to meet these people as well as see the Kanchenjunga area in all its splendor at this time of year.

The border between Tibet, Sikkim, and Nepal is explored during this walk. The lower region's mixed Hindu community, which follows Hinduism, is dominated by the animism-practicing Rai people and the Limbu ethnic group. The top area is home to a separate group of Buddhist Bhote and Sherpa people.
The journey starts in the subtropical region of Taplejung and travels through beautiful temperate forests with birch, maple, and chestnut trees. Terraced fields are still prevalent in these lower regions, even though farming is less effective in steep regions. Rhododendron, pine, fir, and orchid-rich vegetation may be found in the Chitre area. Although they are all shy and difficult to deal with, red pandas, Himalayan Asian black bears, and snow leopards have all been seen in the region. Common bird species include the chestnut-breasted partridge and the blood pheasant.
