Itinerary

Your tour begins when you depart from your country to reach Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal. Our representative will pick you up at the airport. The representatives will take you to the hotel. Upon arriving at the hotel, you can rest and change clothes before eating breakfast. In the evening, visit the Wandering office for the pre-trek briefing session. This session covers the hiking schedule, security info, and a list of required gear. Our guide will share all these details. This session lets you ask questions and clear up any doubts. It also helps you get ready for the next phase. After the evening session, you can explore the lively markets of Kathmandu. Or, you can relax at the hotel. On the first day of the program, you will be served a welcome dinner, during which you will be offered Nepali food.

Arrive in Kathmandu (1,400 meters)

You will wake up early on this day, pack your things, and eat breakfast. Our members will be waiting for you. They will help you with your bag and provide transportation. They will then drop you off at the airport departure point. This time, your departure will occur through the domestic terminal. After entering the airport, you will get your flight ticket from the boarding pass distribution point. You will then take a flight from Kathmandu to Taplejung. The airplane ride will allow you to view many mountain ranges and valley terrain. The view kept getting better as the plane descended nearer to Taplejung. Upon reaching Taplejung, you will feel the fresh, cool air enveloping the region. Your accommodation destination will be your next stop after landing. Check-in at the hotel, then enjoy the unique Taplejung environment.

Flight from Kathmandu to Taplejung(2419 m)

After waking up, you will eat your breakfast. Then, you will start your trek towards Lali Kharka. You will pass through subtropical forests. Throughout the day, you will have to climb and descend. You will have to cross many small rivers. You will also pass through several small villages. In these villages, you will find Kiranti people. The trail lets you see the terraced fields and the homes of residents. On the path, you will pass through many villages. The hiking path provides natural surroundings, clean mountain breezes, and bird sounds. In the village, you can relax and appreciate the scenic charm. After walking for several hours in the evening, you will reach Lali Kharka. Upon reaching Lali Kharka you will stay overnight at the tea house. Here, you can find relaxation and hot food before starting your next journey.

Trek from Taplejung to Lali Kharka (2265 m)

The trek starts with mountain climbing. You have to climb until you reach the ridge point. While climbing, you will appreciate the scenic view. Once you reach the ridge, you have to descend to Simbu. Now, you must climb up before arriving at Kunjari. The bamboo and banana trees become visible when you reach Kunjari village. From here, you must descend until you reach the riverbank of Phawa Khola. You need to pass through the bridge that spans the river. The trail requires you to climb after completing the river crossing. While ascending, you will pass through many small villages. You can pause here to take pleasure in the magnificent mountain scenery of the area. Walking for a certain amount of time, you will reach Kabeli Valley. The Kanchenjunga mountain range can be seen from this valley. From here, your path leads to an area where a peaceful forest dominates. Crossing the forest leads you to Khesewa. As you enter the settlement, you can see millet, maize, and rice crops. The place provides a perfect spot to observe the surrounding mountain scenery. Khesewa Teahouse provides you with accommodation for the night during this day.

Trek from Lali Kharka to Khesewa(2120 m)

You will start your trek after having a satisfying breakfast at Khesewa. While hiking, you can see magnificent views of Simvu, Jannu, and Kanchenjunga. The trail passes through rhododendron forests. The Kabeli Khola River becomes visible after walking for several hours. You can also see waterfalls. This waterfall creates a refreshing vibe during the trek. After walking for several hours, you will reach Yangpang. In this village, you will have lunch. From this location, you will have splendid views of Mount Jannu. From this location, you will walk in the northern direction. Now, you will climb for 20 minutes to reach Pumphe Danda. Once you reach Danda, you will find peace. You will stay the night at Pumphe Danda.

Trek from Khesewa to Pumphe Danda (1780 m)

You will begin your trek after eating breakfast. Today, you have to climb throughout the day. The route will be well-maintained and run beside the Kabeli Khola River. You will encounter a soaring ridge that reaches high above the stream. The route takes you through rhododendron trees and wildflower fields. The hiking path reveals various Himalayas to you. You can also see eagles in the sky. You will observe the magnificent Kanchenjunga massif without any obstructions throughout the day. Your travel experience becomes more enchanting because of this scenery. Many villages, together with suspension bridges, appear along your path. After walking for many hours, the trail leads you to Yamphuding. The magnificent scenery becomes visible upon reaching the village. On this day, you will stay in this village.

Trek from Pumphe Danda to Yamphuding(2080 m)

Today, you will trek from Yamphuding to Torongding on the well-managed path. You will begin your day after eating breakfast. You will hike on the path that is made up of stone. Initially, you will start your hike through the forest. You can see old rhododendron trees in the forest. After crossing the forest, you will reach Lasiya Bhanjyang. Now, you will walk down from Lasiya to reach a grassy pass. From this location, you can see an outstanding perspective of Mt. Kumbakarna from the northeast. You can also view the large landslide region. Now, you have to ascend and descend to reach Torongding. First, you will climb about 150 meters. Then, you will descend through a muddy path with zigzag patterns. While descending, you will be surrounded by a thick forest. After walking for several hours, you will reach the bank of the Simbuwa Khola. Then, you will cross the river and start to climb again. After climbing for several hours, you will reach Torongding. Here, you will stay for the night.

Trek from Yamphuding to Torongding (2080 m to 2995m)

Today, you will hike in a forest filled with pine, rhododendrons, and other trees. You will cross through areas of open land where yaks regularly feed. Be cautious around playful yaks that occupy this area. After walking for several hours, you will cross Yak Kharka and Anda Phedi. After crossing these beautiful villages, you will find a sacred Buddhist shrine. In this area, you can see prayer flags, Trisuls, and cairn rock formations. You can also see a small cave. From this location, you will hike on the broad, flat meadow. On the path, you can find a tiny teahouse facility. You can stop at the small teahouse for a break and to appreciate the surrounding views. After hiking for several hours, you will reach Cheram. From this village, you can view a mountain in every direction. The natural environment offers endless joy as you walk through its beauty.

Trek from Torongding to Cheram (3870m)

The trail today takes you from Cheram to Ramche. You will also explore Kanchenjunga South Base Camp. A hike starts through the rhododendron and pine forest. You will cross a tranquil small stream. As you continue forward, you will pass through the loose culvert. On the path, you can also see yaks grazing. After a short climb, you will reach Yalung Glacier. From this point, the vistas become more stunning. Now, you will cross a glacier's edge. Then, you will enter a sequence of ablation valleys. Here, you can see remarkable ice formations among rocks. On the path, you’ll see a frozen lake, clear streams, and three beautiful mountain peaks. After walking for several hours on the trail, you will reach Ramche. In Ramche, you will put your bag in the teahouse. After that, you will move on to Oktang. There, you will enjoy stunning views of Jannu Mountain, Nyukla Lanchung, and the lovely Kanchenjunga South Face. After enjoying the view and capturing some photos, you will descend back to Ramche in the evening. This day allows you to completely appreciate the pure Himalayan vistas.

Travel from Cheram to Ramche and explore Kanchenjunga South Base Camp (4730m)

Your upcoming trek will be simpler because you will descend to a lower elevation. You will follow the exact trail that led you back from Cheram. The expedition begins by passing through the Lapsang and Yalung Bara villages. While passing through these villages, you can see different parts of the Himalayas. After descending for some time, you will reach Cheram. From Cheram, the path extends to Anda Phedi and continues through Pasang Danda. The extended path stays calm. The path enables you to appreciate the untouched beauty of nature. Take a moment to breathe in the fresh mountain air and enjoy the stunning scenery. In the evening, you will reach Torongding. On this day, you will spend the night at the teahouse.

Trek from Ramche to Torongding (2080 m to 2995m)

Today's trek goes from Torongding to Yamphuding. The path leads through Lasiya Bhanjyang, where you can admire the Amji Khola valley. The start of your trek requires a 150-meter ascent uphill. You will see the grassy Lasiya Bhanjyang ridge when you finish your climb. Getting to the top might present an exciting adventure for you. The ridge's position provides you with a remarkable sighting of Kumbhakarna. You will walk through a silver pine forest. It will create a peaceful vibe for your journey. As you move forward, the trail becomes easier. Now, you will descend on stone stairs to reach Amji Khola. After trekking for hours, you will see a wooden bench at junction points. Here, you can rest for hours and admire the view. From here, you will move toward the open meadow of Chitre. Walking for hours, you will reach your final destination at Yamphuding. In this village, you can find a Sherpa community.

Trek from Torongding to Yamphuding (2080 m)

This day will be the last hiking day of the Kanchenjunga South Base Camp Trek. You will start your hike from Yamaphuding and end at Ranipul. You have to walk for almost four hours. You will start your hike by climbing through the forest. After climbing for some time, you will descend. On the path, you have to cross little streams and diverse local villages. The trip's tranquility will stem from bird sounds and pure mountain air. You will stop for lunch at the midpoint of the journey. Here, you can enjoy the beautiful wilderness and relax. After eating lunch, you will move to your destination, Ranipul. Once you reach Ranipul, your journey requires traveling with a local vehicle. Throughout the journey to Phidim, you will see rolling hills, terraced fields, and small villages. While traveling, you will pass through magnificent green areas. After many hours of driving, you will reach Phidim. Here, you will stay for the night and celebrate the completion of the trek.

Trek from Yamphuding to Ranipul, then drive to Phidim (1157m)

Today, you will start your trek after eating breakfast. You will return to Ghunsa Village by following the way you arrived. Traveling from Khambachen to Ghunsa will take 5 to 6 hours of walking. You’ll walk this calm trail. It takes you through stunning mountain views, rhododendron forests, and peaceful alpine scenery. The trek reveals increasingly extraordinary mountain views at every distance. On your way back, write down the mountain views in your outdoor adventure notebook. After hiking for a few hours in the evening, you'll find Ghunsa, a calm village. Here, you will spend your night resting. In this village, you can charge your electronic equipment, and you can take a hot shower. The location is a perfect spot for travelers to unwind after their mountain trips.

Drive from Phidim to Bhadrapur and flight to Kathmandu(1400m)

Your last day is not very tiring, and you start by saying goodbye to the beautiful land you have seen. Finally, once again, let yourself have a moment to think of all those great moments you have had this morning. We'll have our host meet you when you arrive. They will help you check in for your flight to Tribhuvan International Airport. On the way, get your last look at the traffic of the Nepalese capital. At the airport, our guide will help you with your luggage and seamlessly check you in. At the boarding gate, you hear the thrilling days ringing in your ears.
