Itinerary

When you reach Kathmandu, one of our members will receive you and take you to the hotel. After reaching the hotel, you will be provided welcome drinks with the best accommodation and great hospitality, keeping services top-notch. You will be briefly guided about the trek by our experienced guide and have a short catch-up with the teams who will join you on the trek. For dinner, you will be provided authentic Nepali cuisine with a variety of options. After dinner, you will stay overnight in the same hotel.

Arrival in Kathmandu 1,355m

On Day 2, you will get prepared for the trek and have some exploration of nearby places in Kathmandu. In the morning, you will have a special breakfast and lunch at the hotel. During the day, you will be checking all the necessary equipment for the trek and buying missed items in Kathmandu. You could also visit some of the most amazing destinations, like Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and many other famous places. At night, you can walk up to Thamel and enjoy the nightlife here. Thamel has been the best place to enjoy the time for refreshments. For dinner, you will go back to the hotel and enjoy your dinner. Today our day ends here in a hotel where we will stay overnight getting ready for tomorrow's trek.

Preparation Day at Kathmandu 1355m

On the third day, we will have breakfast at the hotel and catch a flight to Nepalgunj from TIA, which will take us approximately one hour flight time. On the way to Nepalgunj, we will enjoy every moment until we reach Nepalgunj. The panoramic view of Kathmandu Valley, along with green hills and mountains, will add some beauty to our eyes. After reaching Nepalgunj, we will make our entry at Simikot’s entrance and head toward our hotel, where we will have our lunch. After having lunch and resting for some time, we will start to explore Nepalgunj city. This place has been famous for exploring the lively market, Bageshwori Temple, and other famous places that are nearby to the Nepalgunj. After exploring Nepalgunj, we will get back to the hotel, where we will do some activities like dancing, singing, and other activities for refreshment. After some time, we will have our dinner and stay overnight.

Flight to Nepalgunj 150m from Kathmandu

Finally, today we will have a beautiful flight from Nepalgung to Juphal, which will take us approximately 45 minutes. After having a delicious breakfast at Nepalgunj, we will head towards Nepalgunj Airport, where we will catch a flight towards Juphal. Until we reach Juphal, we will enjoy a peaceful and picturesque flight with eye-catching vivid views of hills, terraced farms, and mountain ranges. After landing at Juphal, you can hire porters to carry your backpack and equipment. Now they will be with you for the whole journey to give you the burden of trek. From Juphal, we will get ready to trek towards Dunai, where we will have our nightstay. We will quickly start our walk once we land at Juphal. From Juphal, we will head towards the small village of Dunai, which will take up an interesting small trek. Now, once you start trekking, you will keep continuing your journey watching the scenic view of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna, and other beautiful places. You will reach the Bheri Riverside trail after crossing terraced farms. After a hike of about 2 to 3 hours, you will reach Dunai where you will have your stay in a tea house enjoying the traditional Nepal dinner.

Flight to Juphal 2,502m from Nepalgunj then Trek to Dunai 3,850m

On day 5, we will have a trek from Dunai to Tarakot. After having a sweet morning time at Dunai, we will get ready for trekking towards Tarakot which will take us around 5 to 6 hours to reach the destination. Starting the hike, we will walk through the Bheri river bank which will take us on the straight trail. After some walking, we will have some ups and downs passing several narrow canyons, suspension bridges, and some small villages. Our journey to Tarakot will be done through Lower Dolpo Trekking Trail where we can spot small villages. There we will have our lunch and rest for some time. From there, our journey comes to a near where we will go towards the southern side of the Bheri River, and reach Tarakot. In Tarakot, we will spend our night having our dinner.

Trek to Tarakot 2,543m  from Dunai 2850m

Today, we have to trek a little more than yesterday as we have to make today up to Laini which is at an elevation of 3160m. It will take us approximately 6 to 7 hours to make it. After having breakfast at Tarakot, we will start to trek towards Laini. Our journey will be continued on the Lower Dolpo Trek Route which we take us towards the Tarap Chu River. From there we will continue of journey toward Sandul Gompa. On the journey, we will cross many rivers, suspension bridges, and lush hills. From here, we will continue our journey passing some small communities and terraced farms to reach Laini. Here, today in the afternoon, we will make it up to Laini. After reaching Laini, we will get to the tea houses where we will be staying today. In the night, we will enjoy the nighttime with the people of Laini where we will also have our dinner along with them, enjoying their traditional and unique cuisine. After dinner, we will get back to sleep.

Trek to Laini 3,160m from Tarakot2,543m

On day 7, we will trek towards Nawarpani which will take us approximately 5 to 6 hours. From Laini, we will have our breakfast checkout from the hotel, and move towards our next destination Nawarpani which is almost at an altitude of 3,545m. Starting the trek from Laini, we will move on the trail that will go through the Tarap River and have to go through some narrow canyon as you forward. The trail is simple and doesn't let you feel any difficulty but will let you enjoy every moment. Now, you have to cover up some uphills that are not so difficult to cover but the vibes of the journey won't let you feel any difficulty. After some trek, you will reach near to Chyugur Khola and from here after a short walk you will reach Nawarpani. After reaching Nawarpani, as usual, you will reach the homestay where you will be staying overnight and spend some time here with the local people.

Trek to Nawarpani 3,545m from Laini 3,160m

Finally, we make it up to Nawarpani, and today we will go to Dho Tarap, which is almost at an altitude of 4,000m. After having our breakfast, we will wrap up and start to trek towards Dho Tarap. From here, we will reach the place called Kamattarka. Kamattarka is the well-known place where the Tarap Chu River and the Lang Khola meet. From here, we will keep walking, leaving the green forest behind and entering the Himalayan Valley. After walking for an hour and some frequent rest, we will reach Dho Tarap. Along the trail, we will reach Dho Tarap, enjoying the beautiful juniper forest, where we can also spot some beautiful wild roses. After reaching Dho Tarap, we will just reach our teahouse, get relaxed, and have our dinner. After having dinner, we will stay overnight.

Trek to Dho Tarap 4,090m from Nawarpani 3,545m

Finally, the day comes when we can just stay relaxed and explore the Dho Tarap. We will have a good sleep and have our breakfast in the teahouse. We will have some talks with our teams, share our experience, and roam nearby. After having lunch, we will start to explore every corner of Dho Tarap. According to your preference, you can also wear their cultural attire and know about their culture and traditions. You will also get a chance to learn about their top well-known religions called Chaiba and Bon Po. After spending quite a good day at Dho Tarap, you will also have some talk about their unique lifestyle with the locals. The day will be so pleasant as you will love the way they are living far away from city life. When it gets night, we will come back to our tea house, have our dinner, and stay overnight.

Acclimatization Day in Dho Tarap 4,090m

On day 10, we will have our trek towards Upper Tarap Valley which will take us around 6 to 7 hours. Today will gonna be the best day of our trek as this will take us to the green grassland along with the beautiful running streams which can only be seen en route to Numa La Base Camp. As we start walking from Dho Tarap, we will start to feel more peaceful. On the route, you will keep walking for some hours and also can hike towards Tokyo along the Tarap Chu River. From here, you will have your lunch somewhere in the middle of the trek. You will also have some coffee or tea on the way. After some hours of trekking, you will reach Chiba sect's monastery where you will spend some time exploring it. From here, you will continue walking and reach Numa La Base Camp, where you will spend the night having a delicious dinner.

Trek to Numa La Base Camp 4,440m from Dho Tarap 4,090m

Until today, you have almost made up to the height of 4,440m. Day 11, is a little more difficult than other days as today we have to make up to 5,190m. We will have a trek of around 6 to 7 hours until we reach Numa La Pass. Having experienced guides, as well as motivation will not let you feel difficult. After having breakfast at Numa La Base Camp, we will wrap up and start to trek upward towards Penung Tang. After making a climb up to Numa La Pass, we can catch the best glimpse of Mount Dhaulagiri in front of our eyes. After spending some picturesque time there, we will again start to trek towards Penung Tang. The trail towards Penung Tang from Numa La Pass is quite easy and sloppy. After trekking for certain hours, we will step into Penung Tang where will spend our night at a tented camp.

Trek to Penung Tang 4,465m  from Numa La Base Camp via Numa La Pass 5,190m

Today is day 12, and we gonna pass another pass today. After having our breakfast, we will start our trek. We will have our walk slowly and steadily. Today, we have to trek for around 6 hours which will be covered easily. Starting the trek, we will reach Baga La Pass after some hours of trek. We will spend some picturesque time at Baga La Pass and rest for a while. After spending some golden time watching the panoramic view of Mount Kanjirowa at Baga La Pass, we will again start to trek and move towards Dajok Tang. Today's walk will be on the same route as Lower Dolpo Trek which will descend and reach Dajok Tang. After reaching Dajok Tang, we will get into the tea house and have some rest. In the afternoon, we will stroll around nearby places and spend some time with locals. In the night, we will have our dinner and spend our night here in the tea house.

Trek to Dajok Tang 4,080m from Penung Tang via Baga La Pass 5,070m

On day 13, we will have a very short trek for around 3 to 4 hours. In the morning, we will have breakfast and prepare for the trek. On your preference, we can also start our trek after having lunch. Starting the trek from Dajok Tang, we will head towards Ringmo. On the trail of Lower Dolpo Trek, we will walk past the alpine greenery and pine trees forest. Today, we will reach Ringmo Village a little faster as this place has many more things to explore. After reaching Ringmo Village, we will get our room at the tea house where we will be staying and have some rest. After having rest for some time, we will start to visit the nearby places in Ringomo. This place is a Tibetan settlement that lies in the Dolpo Area. After spending some time here at Ringmo Village, we will get back to our tea house, have our dinner, and stay overnight.

Trek to Ringmo  3,600m from Dajok Tang 4,080m

Day 14 is quite interesting to trek, as we will reach Phoksundo Lake today. We will get up early in the morning, have our breakfast, and start to trek towards Phoksundo Lake. The lake lies at an elevation of 3,611 meters and is also on the list of most visited places. Dolpo has become quite famous just because of this lake. We will start to head towards Phoksundo Lake and while going there we will also visit Yak caravans and local monasteries. After a certain hike, we will reach Phoksundo Lake. There we have the facility of the tea house, so we will be staying here in Phoksundo Lake. The tea house is quite near to the lake. As the lake looks appealing in the morning time, we will rest this day and wait for tomorrow. We will have a delicious dinner and stay overnight.

Trek to Phoksundo Lake  3,611m from Ringmo 3,600m

Finally day arrives when we will be exploring Phoksundo Lake. On this day, we will fully spend our morning time here at Phoksundo Lake capturing photos, creating memories, and everything we can do. After having a good time here, we will start to descend towards Shyanta. From here we will have our breakfast at Phoksundo Lake and move ahead. After a hike for some hours leaving the settlement area behind we will reach Shyanta Village. After reaching the village, we will spend our day here, have our dinner, and stay overnight.

Trek to Shyanta  2,520m from Phoksundo Lake 3,611m

From Shyanta Village we will descend towards Juphal. We will have our breakfast at Shyanta Village in the morning and start our trek. As our journey comes to an end day-by-day we will keep trekking capturing every moment that can be the best memories. After trekking for 7 to 8 hours, we will finally land in Juphal. Here in Juphal, we will stay in a tea house. Here the accommodation is quite good, so we will have our dinner here and wrap up everything cause tomorrow we will have a flight toward Nepalgunj. The porters will be up to here with us.

Trek to Juphal  2,320m from Syanta 2,520m

Today on day 17, we will have a scenic flight from Juphal to Nepalgunj. We will have our breakfast and lunch at Juphal and in the afternoon time, we will fly towards Nepalgunj. As our journey with porters ends here, we will have a warm farewell with them and catch a flight to Nepalgunj from Juphal. After landing at Nepalgunj, we will get to the hotel have some rest, and explore the place of your preference. At night, we will get back to the hotel, have our dinner, and stay overnight.

Flight to Nepalgunj 150m from Juphal 2,320m

Today on day 18, we will come back to Kathmandu from Nepalgunj on a flight. We will have our breakfast and lunch at Nepalgunj and wait for the flight. In the afternoon, we will be back in Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu, we will come to the hotel on a luxury tourist coach and come back to the hotel. After reaching the hotel, we will have some rest and wrap up everything about the journey we did together. In the evening, we will have a delicious farewell dinner at the hotel and enjoy the moment together. After spending the golden time, we will get back to sleep.

Nepalgunj to Kathmandu 1,355m

The day comes when we all depart to our destination. You will be dropped up at the airport for your next destination or you can again travel with us to another destination.

There is no age restriction for trekkers who are willing to join the Lower Dolpo Hidden Valleys Trek but those who have health issues and somehow child are suggested to not go as it has uphill trails. One with great confidence and self-motivation can make it easily following the guides.
