The Lower Mustang Bike Ride Tour is an adventure-filled experience that some call the Jomsome-Muktinath bike ride tour. This tour offers a significant portion of Nepal’s Himalayan landscape, and is particularly well-known for mountain biking in Nepal. The tour provides stunning views of scenic plateaus with breathtaking Himalayan vistas. The Muktinath bike ride passes through diverse tropical geography en route to Muktinath, giving you the opportunity to experience the authentic way of life of the mountain people and indulge in off-road adventure in Nepal. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to explore the trails of Muktinath, appreciate the hospitality of the friendly local hosts, and experience the incredible diversity of Nepal. The tour also includes unique villages like Marpha (famous for apple farm), Kagbeni and many other on the bike ride route. The village of Tatopani is also on the route where you can enjoy natural hot spring. This ride is considered moderate in terms of difficulty and is suitable for people who are physically and mentally fit.

The Lower Mustang Bike Ride Tour offers the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the cultural blend of Mustang and to explore beyond, reaching the highest altitude of 3,710 meters at Muktinath. The tour takes us along ancient trade routes, including the old trade route to Tibet. Muktinath, a popular pilgrimage site for followers of the Hindu and Buddhist religions, is believed to be a place where, by bathing under the 108 water taps, one’s sins are washed away, making them as pure as a child again. The Mustang region is also known for its fantastic single trails that will engage mountain and endurance riders, as well as jeep trails and less challenging single trails, guaranteed to bring a smile to the face of any mountain biker.

The optimal period for cycling on the Lower Mustang trail is from mid-March to the end of May, as well as from September to the end of November.

Itinerary

Altitude: 1,350m/4,428ft.

We will on this day drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu. If we are drive early morning at around 7 am. On the way, we will pass by a lot of farm villages and cities with views of snow topped peaks.

Pokhara actually is the most well-known valleys in the southern slope of Himalayas. It hides the best of Himalayan charisma with three arresting lakes in its region- Phewa, Begnas and Rupa. Overnight In Pokhara.

After a refreshing and timely start, you'll embark on a jeep ride for an 8-hour transfer to Kagbeni. The journey will begin on a paved road, but soon turn into a rough jeep track, giving you a taste of what it's like to ride in the Himalayas. You'll be surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, including deep valley gorges, majestic snow-capped mountains and thrilling river passes. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to stop for lunch and take in the stunning vistas while relishing the picturesque surroundings. Eventually, you'll arrive at your destination for the day - Kagbeni, where you will be able to fully appreciate the awe-inspiring landscape.

After departing Kagbeni, you'll embark on a challenging uphill ride to the elevated destination of Muktinath, which sits at an altitude of 3900m. The journey continues by ascending the trail to the northern side of the gorge, and traversing a bumpy jeep track that leads towards the formidable Thorong La Pass, passing through the village of Jhong. In Jhong, you'll have the opportunity to take a break, explore an ancient monastery and have lunch while soaking in the sun and admiring the majestic mountain views. The final leg of the journey, after lunch, will be relatively short, and you'll arrive in Muktinath in the mid-afternoon. You can spend this time exploring the local village and its monasteries and temples with your guide, or simply rest and relax.

Today's stage starts with a brief ride on the road before heading into the renowned Lubra Valley trails, known for their grippy and flowing singletrack. Riders will then follow the Kaligandaki river, passing through the town of Jomsom. The stage concludes with a 7km descent on a main jeep track to Marpha, a charming village paved with cobblestones and famous for its delicious apples.

The trail from Marpha leads mostly downhill to Tatopani. The route starts out gently and flat, passing through pine forests and small villages as riders follow the river. On clear days, the views of the snowcapped peaks are stunning. The stage will stop for lunch at the flowing waterfalls of Rukse Chaahara. After lunch, riders will diverge from the main jeep track to ride around pine forests and the beautiful Titi Lake, before the final 20km descent from Kalopani to Tatopani, which is a rapid and thrilling ride. Tatopani is a charming village paved with cobblestones, famous for its hot springs, where riders can relax and soak their tired muscles.

Today marks the final stage of the trip. With the majority of the challenging riding behind you, the stage will be a more leisurely ride to the end of the trails. The lower altitude will make the riding feel easier, and the trail will have gentle undulations throughout the way to Maldhunga. The first 21km to Beni will be on a jeep track and then our team will pack everything on the jeep and transfer you to Pokhara by jeep.

Early in the morning, we will drive back to Kathmandu. After that, we will transfer to our hotel in Kathmandu. At hotel, you can just relax or go for last minute shopping. Overnight in hotel.

Lastly, Enjoy your last moment in Kathmandu with a stroll or souvenir shopping. Therefore, Marking the end of your trek, we will drive you to the Tribhuvan International Airport at the scheduled time for your flight home. or if you have extra days for other activities you can reach us.
