Best Time to go to the Langtang Valley trek

If you’re seeking a memorable experience in Langtang Valley in Nepal, one of the best months to go would probably be the Spring Season (March to May) and Autumn (September to November).

Spring Season (March to May)

Spring is without a doubt one of the glory times in Langtang, Nepal which guarantees warm and dry weather coupled with glorious scenery. The tracks are covered with beautiful flowers, thus the trek becomes scenic as well as colorful. The trekker has a full range of vision and you can see the magnificent view of Langtang and neighboring peaks. This is a peak season, hence, there will be many trekking parties. Nevertheless, usually, airplanes,  guides, and porters are plentiful.

Autumn Season (September to November)

Autumn is also an ideal time of the year as the weather conditions are stable and mountain views are clear. The rains during the monsoon season can practically clear the air of dust and pollution, which gives heavenly views of the Himalayas. As the snow melts away in the first days of autumn, a sense of adventure is added but, so too are some of the slippery paths. This is one of the periods when Nepal is celebrating its most important festivals, the Dashain and Tihar allowing the trekkers to experience the local culture.

Heritage and Landscapes of the Langtang Region

The Tamang people live in Langtang Valley and are closely tied to Tibetan Buddhist culture. The journey will take you past the Lama Hotel, Langtang, and Kyanjin Gompa, where you will likely see old monasteries, chortens (little stone votives), and prayer wheels moving in the wind. The Kyanjin Gompa, a local peak nestled at the foot of the Langtang Himalayas, makes for an incredible photo opportunity. The Tamang people bring the cultural experience to life via their warm hospitality, distinctive traditions, and remarkable rituals.

The Gosaikunda & Lauribina Pass (4,610m) is an elevation from which the Langtang Range, Ganesh Himal, and even some distant hills in Tibet appear wonderfully. Besides the lovely trees, tranquil valleys, and fast-running rivers, this splendid hike also incorporates Gosaikunda, an attractive lake, and massive mountains, which is the ideal recipe for creating natural beauty with cultural awareness.

Autumn (September to November) is the best season for the Langtang Valley Trek as it is the tourist season of Trekking in Nepal more than spring. This is because while Spring might be slightly hot, autumn provides the best climatic conditions for your trek. People here in the Manaslu region grow maize, barley, and wheat as their major local production. They also grow potatoes as their major local vegetable production. Well, the region is cold but we can see they have been raising animals like Yaks, Cattle, Goats and Sheep, and Pigs as domestic husbandry. All are grown for their meat production during tourist visits and festivals.

One or two months before the actual trekking time start to walk or run near your home to gain stamina. You might engage in normal jogging, running cycling, and swimming. It has been beneficial to join the gym before the trek as well as do cardio exercises before the trek.
