Itinerary

Altitude: 1,350m/4,428ft.

• Start your Kathmandu Valley Rim bike trail in the town of Sundarijal, located on the northeastern edge of the valley.
• The first leg of the route takes you through the Shivapuri National Park, offering stunning views of the Himalayan mountain range and the opportunity to spot a variety of flora and fauna.
• After approximately 15 km, you will reach the Nagi Gumba Monastery, a popular stop for a rest and a snack.
• Continue on to the village of Chisapani, where you can spend the night in a local guesthouse.

• Leave Chisapani early in the morning to tackle the steepest and most challenging section of the route.
• Continue on to Nagarkot, a popular hill station known for its panoramic views of the Himalayas. Spend the night in a guesthouse in Nagarkot.

• Leave Nagarkot and head towards the town of Dhulikhel, known for its traditional Newari architecture and beautiful mountain views.
• Along the way, you will pass through several small villages and have the opportunity to observe local life.
• Make a stop at the Namobuddha Monastery, a sacred site for Buddhists.
• Spend the night in a guesthouse in Dhulikhel.

• Leave Dhulikhel and continue south towards the town of Panauti.
• Spend the night in a guesthouse in Panauti.

• Leave Panauti and head south towards the village of Balthali.
• Along the way, you will pass through picturesque rural landscapes and have the chance to visit traditional farmhouses.
• Spend the night in a guesthouse in Balthali.

• Leave Balthali and continue south towards the town of Sanga, where you will complete the Kathmandu Valley Rim bike trail.
• This final leg of the route takes you through Saga, offering beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.
• Celebrate your accomplishment with a well-deserved rest and a meal in Sanga before returning to Kathmandu.
