On the day of arrival, you will come to Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, where the Wandering Trails team will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. If you have enough time you can stroll around the Kathmandu nearby areas and buy anything if something is left to get for the trek. In the afternoon, we will have a short meeting regarding the trek with the teams and then you will be provided a delicious Nepali cuisine for dinner. You will have your overnight stay at the same hotel.
On the second day, we will officially start our trek. After breakfast, we will pack our bags and get in the jeep for a ride to Phaply, a 275-kilometer journey that may take 9 hours to complete. Then, we will enjoy of ride on a jeep capturing the beautiful moments of Nepali villages with valley views, tall hills, rivers, and agricultural land along the way. On the way to Paplu, we will have our lunch and after a complete jeep journey, we will reach Paplu. The view of Paplu with green lush hills a small villages will add more beauty to it. On the same day from Paplu, we will start our trek to Takshindo. After having guides and porters we will head towards Takshindo leaving Ringmo villages behind. After a hike for certain hours, we will reach Takshindo which is a village surrounded by Sherpa, Tamang, and Rai communities. We will head towards our lodge where we will stay overnight and have some rest there. In the afternoon time, we will visit the nearby places around Takshindo which is mostly famous for its ancient cheese factory. At night, we will have our dinner and stay overnight enjoying the unique hospitality at Takshindo.
On the third day, we will have our breakfast at Takshindo and start our trek to Kharikhola which is at the distance of 11 kilometers far. We have to hike today for around 7 to 8 hours following our guides. Starting the trek, we will start on trails that go through the bank of Dhud Koshi River enjoying the lush forest with the high green hills side by and terraced garms too. We can see some villages on the way where mostly Sherpas can be spotted. On the way, enjoying the Sherpa Buddhism culture we will reach Kharikhola. The picturesque moment on the trail of Kharikhola provides the best opportunity to experience varied greenery along the Himalayan Terrains with mountain water flowing rivers that look different than others where it seem to be white. We will stay at a lodge in Kharikhola where we will enjoy your dinner and stay overnight.
On the fourth day of our travel, we shall be going to Paiya from Kharikhola which is approximately 11 kilometers far from Kharikhola and may take around 7-8 hours to reach there. After eating breakfast at Kharikhola, we will go on our way via a small river where a suspension bridge is found across it. On the journey, we will be going through ups and downs having rest frequently. After 3 to 4 hours, we will reach Bupsa Village, we will have our lunch and have some picturesque moments here. Also, you can have a trek to Khari La pass from where we can enjoy the best view of Tham Danda and Khumbila Moutain too. We will continue our journey until will reach Paiya. After reaching Paiya, we will have our stay at a tea house or lodge where we will stay overnight.
On the fifth day of our journey, we have covered a lot of distance of our journey. In the morning at Paiya, we will have our breakfast and start to move for Phakding which is around an 11-kilometer journey that we will cover in 7 hours. Firstly we have to move towards Surkhe passing Dudh Koshi Canyon and Chutok La Pass. Now, we have some uphill trails where we will reach to Lukla suspension bridge point. After walking for some hours we will reach our beloved place Phakding, We will have our beautiful overnight stay at Phakding having a Nepali dinner with great hospitality by Sherpas.
Today, our journey will take us to Namche Bazaar covering a total of 11 kilometers distance on approximately 7 hours. We will have a delicious breakfast at Phakding and get ready to move towards our next destination. We will move towards Bengkar to enjoy the suspension bridge walk and the picturesque moment at the gorgeous waterfall along the trail. Continuing our journey having fun and enjoyment, we will pass Monjo village, pine forest, streams, and gorge. There lies in wait for Sagarmatha National Park before we approach Namche Bazaar. The Phakding-to-Namche Bazaar trails along the junction of the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi Mountain Rivers shall provide a travel experience. In other words, we will make a steep climb of this hill before getting to the Namche Bazaar. In Namche Bazaar, we shall take lodging in a tea house or lodge where this evening will set a fine stage for a smooth landing for dinner on the table.
On the seventh day of our daily trekking trip already, we've got a rest day today here in Namche Bazaar to explore every corner. Namche Bazaar is the largest town in the Khumbu region and provides access to the first view of Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, and Mount Nupste. Albeit an acclimatization rest day, this does not mean that you are not allowed to do some short trekking to nearby viewpoints like Thame or Khunde. Also, you may wish to check out the area, which includes the Tourist Visitor Center for the exhibition on Everest climbers, Sherpa culture, and varieties of local flora and fauna. You can also ascend to the viewpoint above Namche in the direction of the Everest View Hotel. From there, one can trace Mount Ama Dablam with relative ease. After the mesmerizing views of Mount Everest and Lhotse, a golden sunset will make your day. We retreat to Namche for the night after sundown.
The trail on day eight of the trek is around 10 kilometers long, and the hike will cover this distance in about 6-7 hours, starting on foot from Namche Bazaar after breakfast and taking us past the tiny settlements of Syangboche, Sanasa, and Phortse Tonga. Marvelous views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kongde Ri dot the way. The up-and-down trail, leading from the rocky terrain at Phortse Thanga, gradually climbs to reach Dole. Gently hiking through rhododendron forests beside the Dudh Koshi River will take you to Dole, camping at an altitude of 4,110 meters, where it might hit you as the altitude change occurs, and you will get a wholesome dinner prepared for you in Dole tonight.
On the ninth day, we will trek from Dole to Machhermo, which is about 10 kilometers and will take approximately 5-6 hours. We will start your journey after breakfast and then pass through Lhabarma and Luza. There will be temporary settlements visible along the way with stunning views of Kantega, Cho Oyu, Thamserku, and Ngozumpa Glacier. The trail is a lot of climbing up and down and pleasant walking along the valley of Dudh Koshi. Still, while at Machhermo, we will visit the village and see a stream that discharges from Kyajo Ri and Phari Lapche. In Machhermo, we will have our overnight stay and have our dinner.
On the tenth day of our journey, we will head some 7 kilometers from Machhermo to Gokyo in four or five hours. After having breakfast, we start to climb to the ridge, with lovely views of Mount Cho Oyu. Here, the trail passes through Phangkha and drops down to the riverbed. From here, we will ascend the terminal moraine of the Ngazumpa Glacier via an iron bridge that leads to the first lake, Longpongo, before continuing past the second lake, Taboche Tsho, and arriving at the third lake, Gokyo Dudh Pokhari, near the Gokyo settlements. Views of the Gokyo Lakes against the backdrop of Mount Cho Oyu are quite smattering. Here, dinner will be served to us with full hospitality, and overnight it will be spent in a lodge here in Gokyo.
This day is the second acclimatization day in the Everest Gokyo Trek through the Salleri itinerary. The day is available for short treks to adjust to the altitude. An early morning climb to Gokyo Ri is possible if the weather is good. A detailed view of the whole Khumbu region can be captured from Gokyo Ri. The morning sun on Mount Everest is extraordinary, giving great views of some other peaks such as Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makulu. The scenery around Gokyo with the biggest Nogzumpa Glacier and that of Cholatse and the third lake is truly magnificent. You can also spend this acclimatization day by walking to the serene beauty of the fourth lake, Thonak Tsho, 3 km north of Gokyo. Depending on one's condition, some can hike to the fifth lake, Ngozumpa Tsho, from where the views of the longest glacier in the Himalayas are simply stunning. For the general information of trekkers, the distance from Salleri to Gokyo is around 52.3 kilometers.
On the 12th day, You will continue your Gokyo across Salleri trek to Dragnag today after honing up in Gokyo village for a day. The Ngozumpa glacier will be your guide along much of this trail. While it is shorter in distance and slightly higher in elevation, the trail requires some ups and downs. Standing idyllically beside the Ngozumpa glacier, Dragnag turns out to be a fine resort for assisting trekkers in acceding Cho-La High Pass. The walk's length from Gokyo village to Dragnag is 4.43 km to be covered in anything between 4 to 5 hours.
On the 14th day, we will walk around 9.38 kilometers from Dragnag to Dzongla. Although part of this route was done the night before in Thangnak, crossing sharply-contoured terrain and glacier moraines to reach the summit of Cho La Pass makes this segment a significant one. As steeply inclined, this ascent can become a bit risky due to freezing. Summiting Cho La Pass will be a point of attraction after some time of ascending, the great sights being seen here are Cho La Lake and Mt. Cholatse. The way down seems quite precarious, and the view is really beautiful. After almost seven hours of walking, you will reach Dzongla, where you will stay overnight.
On day 14, we will trek a distance of 10.8 kilometers, from Dzongla to Gorakshep, which will take us about 7 hours. The trail descends toward Chola Lake, passing a small glacial lake, with a view of Cholatse, Taboche, and the Chola glacier. Following the Khumbu Glacier, we will pass memorials to climbers and reach Lobuche after about 4 hours. Here, we will rejoin the Everest Base Camp trail and continue for another 3 hours to Gorakshep, where we will overnight.
You need to wrap up with the iconic Everest Base Camp (EBC) on the fifteenth day. After dropping off your belongings at Gorakshep, you should climb up to EBC. This will fill you with elation and a great sense of achievement. Attaining EBC would require a lot of determination and patience, but all the effort would seem worthwhile, considering the majestic views of the Khumbu Glacier and surrounding peaks. Relish this beauty and take pictures you won't want to forget. After this, you will return to Gorakshep for an overnight.
On this day, you will continue your journey with your porters from Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5,644.5m). From Kala Patthar, you will enjoy the panoramic view of Mt. Everest, and continuing it you will return to Pheriche (4,371m) at approximately 6-7 hours. At Pheriche, you can enjoy the stunning view of the Himalayas with their agricultural style. You will see people raising Yaks and sheep and you can enjoy different Nepali-style dairy products such as Cheese, Churpi, and a special item called “Kurauni” which is made by boiling milk until it gets into a solid state. You will have dinner and sleep at Pheriche on that day.
On Day 17, you will have breakfast and depart from Pheriche to walk the six to seven-hour trail heading for Namche Bazaar. After reaching Namche Bazaar, you will stay there for the night and have a chance to rest. As before, enjoy and learn about anything you missed in Namche Bazaar on your way up. Again, you will stay there that night and have your dinner.
On day 19, you have a premium exploration of Namche Bazaar on this day where you will have your lunch too. After having a delicious trek then, today you will gradually leave the Himalayan region. It will take approximately 6-7 hours to reach Lukla. Here you can enjoy the Sherpa Community by visiting Sherpa Stupas, Monasteries, and other Religious Places. After a day spent at Lukla, you will pack up and prepare for the journey back to Kathmandu. Dinner may include the local Sherpa cuisine, with drinks upon request.
On Day 19, You will get a warm farewell from Sherpa people, guides, and poters. Then, you will get back to Lukla Airport. Your flight from Lukla will bring you back to Kathmandu showing you the best eyesight views of snow-capped Himalayan peaks, terrain landscapes, and many more. You will be taken back to the same hotel you stayed before. There you will have your beautiful stay with delicious cuisine.
This day is the end of our journey where you will be provided a drop service from the hotel to the Airport, from where you will move on to your next destination.
There is no age restriction for joining the Everest Base Camp Trek but the kids and elderly people are suggested to avoid this trek because of the difficult terrain.
Yes, trekking in this region is safe. We take care of your safety at all times during the trek. You will be provided with first aid and an oxygen cylinder in case of any emergencies.

As the booking for helicopter toru to EBC is on peak and at high demand there it can be canceled early but if it is nearer to trek day it can’t be canceled. If also it gets cancelled there will be no full refund policy.
We will always start the trek by seeing the condition of the weather and the predictions. To get away from the weather issue we only trek in the Spring seasons and Autumn seasons when the climate will be clear and the temperature will also be in a moderate condition which will be the best time for the EBC trek.
Yes, you need a permit to go on a trek at Everest Base Camp. One is from, the Trekkers Information Management System which is a database of tourists who have come here to Nepal on a Tourism VISA. Other than the EBC trek you need a permit from Khumbu Rural Municipality Permit and Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit.
There is no limitation on the weight of your backpack, you can pack it according to your itinerary and the days you are staying there. So, prepare and get ready with the materials mentioned above in the checklist.
